The French and Indian War
The French and Indian War was the given name of the war in North America. While in the other parts of the world was called "The Seven Year War". The conflict didn't only include the french, the british, and the indians; it also involved Austria, Prussia, and Sweden. The war played out all over the world in: India, Europe, North America, and the West Indies. In Europe the conflict was due to the rising power of Frederick the Great King of Prussia, they all allied to crush him. While in North America, India, and West Indies the fight was for colonial domination between France, and Great Britain. At first, the british had suffered countless losses, and were losing the war. From 1756-1757 the french detroyed british forts in Lake Ontario and Lake George. But in 1758 Britain's luck turned around when William Pitt commander in chief came out with a plan for three major offensive tactics which main purpose was to capture lands of New France. The french weakened when the british blocked the french coastline leaving no way for the french to receive supplies. British victories continued in 1759. The victory was official in 1760, when Governor Vaudreuil negociated the defeat with Governor Amherst, Vaudreuil surrended all of Canada to the british. The British kept the great lakes, Canada, and Florida. In 1763, France and Great Britain signed "The Treaty of Paris".
